2020 GOOD NEWS:
Well here it is my yearly curated good news of the last year! (Better late than never) I think especially in this last year when it sometimes truly felt like there was no more hope in the world it’s important to recognize that there are always bright spots. This year more diverse representation happened in all facets of society from governments, to militaries, to sports. There were tons of legal wins big and small! And when the world felt bleak so many people came together to help as many people as they could. People fought for what they believed in and while it may not seem like much had changed every change of heart counts. And even when the world seemed too full of hate and divisiveness there was always something wholesome to turn to that everyone could agree on.

Whether you picked up new hobbies and grew a lot as a person this past year or you simply managed to stay alive I am so proud of you! I know everything didn’t magically change at the stroke of midnight last night and 2021 may throw all kinds of curveballs at us... but just remember that somehow we’ll get through them and I’m sure there will be a whole batch of good news stories for me to share next year 🙂

While this year has been harder and darker than most... I’ve been determined to feel a little brighter for Christmas... I have a lot to be thankful for and there’s a lot of beauty around if you can stop and look for it... so Merry Christmas everyone I hope you find a reason to smile sometime soon :) 🎄♥️

I absolutely love fall it’s my favorite season.

I absolutely love fall it’s my favorite season. And it never lasts long enough, it feels so fleeting. The trees go from green to beautiful to dead so quickly.

But this year feels different. I have had a rough semester nothing seems to be going how I wanted or planned (that’s just kinda par for the course in 2020 though isn’t it?)

But I feel like to counteract that a bit fall has seemed to last for a little bit longer this year. It hasn’t been super rainy and cold until really this week, at least where I am. The trees down in Evansville change way slower than they seem to at home which is both frustrating and appreciated depending on my POV.

But overall I feel like despite wanting to hide from the world lately... I have been able to slow down and just appreciate the world and her last great show before winter. I think we’re all just taking what we can get this year... and if this is what I get... well I think I can live with that.

Sometimes you just gotta drive an hour and a 1/2 both ways to walk in a muddy cave and then sit in a crevice with your friends and listen to the water go by.

No but for real this state park in Illinois was actually really pretty and peaceful and for a second I was confused because since when is the Midwest this nice to look at? It was super peaceful and the weather was cool and nice and it was just a great time. Also these pictures don’t really give the cave justice it was huge!

Anybody else gone on any spontaneous adventures lately? If not I would recommend its very nice to get a change of scenery.

I’m gonna be honest I’ve had trouble getting b

I’m gonna be honest I’ve had trouble getting back into the swing of things this semester. One of my classes has been rough, one super boring, and all of them seem like way more work than anything did last year. Idk if it’s just that I had a super long break without a lot of stuff to do or what but I’m just not in the groove. And it’s been disappointing because I was so excited for my schedule this semester and being in an apartment and all this stuff and it’s just not lived up to expectations much at all.

So what did I do to try to get out of my funk with school? I went home! That might seem counterintuitive (and it might be I haven’t gone back yet😂...) but it has felt so good! Home is only two hours north of my school but the weather here seems cooler and nicer and made me realize that fall really is coming which is super exciting! And even tho I was ready to get away from them after 6 months with them, I was happy to hug my sisters and mom.
Plus jeep rides with the doors off, Mexican food, and board games with best friends never hurt anyone’s mood either😉

I’ve also been able to catch back up on assignments during this long weekend which was definitely needed. My procrastination and apathy has been through the roof with my classes but I think it’s all starting to turn around! How’s everyone else’s semesters been going so far?

It’s the first day of Sophomore year and I am feeling conflicted... On one hand I’m super excited to be back on campus with my friends and to be away from home after like 5 months! On the other hand things are different! And different can be scary. It’s not even all COVID related... this year was going to be different no matter what. I’m in an apartment this year which is both good and bad. I get a kitchen which is great but a worse bathroom which isn’t... and I have to ride the bus to the main area of campus and I am just too awkward for that 😂

Still, despite having to ride the bus, despite being broken out, and despite the fact that I have to go to work tonight 😒 I’m trying my hardest to keep up my excitement and have a smile on my (masked of course) face.
